I've never worked on a construction project before and I'm not very strong. Should I still come or would I get in the way?

Yes! Don't let your 'inability' stray you away from this opportunity. Several team members went on the trip with no knowledge of tools, their functions, and construction knowledge. We have team members who will teach, guide, and support you through the whole process. Despite what you think you know, you are guarenteed to leave with new knowlege and skills.

Where do you sleep/stay?

Sleeping arrangements are cost-free and provided by our hospitable "second" church members. Sometimes it's a guest home with showers and television, other times its a local church that offers us a stay. After every successful work day (if showers are not provided), we stop by the local YMCA or gym for nice steamy showers. We always have plenty of air mattresses for everyone. And last but not least, the men and women get their own private sleeping quarters

I don't know much about Christianity but I am willing to learn. Would I have to have attended a church prior to the trip in order to go?

The Lord's Builder's whole purpose is to build structures for people to worship in. Every day of the trip we have a devotion from the Bible- but don't let that scare you. TLB mission trips are one of the best ways to learn more about God without the structure of a long church service. You will be partnered with a brother/sister in faith and sometimes even people like yourself, who might not know where they stand in their walk with God. We not only learn through group devotions, but also through the work that we do. We get to see God work with us in our lives, as well as those around us. But don't worry if you don't feel the connection right away. It's all about the journey.

Can I invite a friend on the trip?

Of course!!! We encourage people to invite friends and family. However, to ensure you go on this trip you must participate in meetings and fundraisers as much as possible.
